 About The FPF

The name – Forgotten People Fund – was chosen because the promises that had been made to the Ethiopian people when they were brought to Israel in the two separate operations launched by the State of Israel – Operation Moses in 1984/5 and Operation Solomon in 1991- had all but been forgotten.

In 1998, after years of working with the Ethiopian community, Ann and David Silverman, and Rabbi Yosef (ז"ל) and Aida Miller, established the Forgotten People Fund as an emergency fund to help Ethiopian families who had no place to turn.
The Dream

The Reality

Families were falling apart, children were receiving substandard education, the community was riddled with dropouts and serious social problems, and violence within the families was becoming all too familiar.

Today the FPF has evolved into an organization that is making a difference in the lives of Netanya’s Ethiopian community.                     Understanding that the key to absorption into Israeli life is education, it has put an emphasis on education, both formal and informal.

In 2008 we were honoured to receive

an award from the City of Netanya for

outstanding volunteer work.
