education.BMP (598134 bytes)Looking back over the past 10 years, it is hard to believe how much has been accomplished by such a small group of dedicated volunteers.

FPF is grateful that many of the Ethiopian families who were assisted when they first arrived in 1984/5 and 1991 no longer need FPF’s help. Those who made aliyah since 2000 require the most help because so little was provided to them by the Israeli government due to budget cuts and lack of funding of projects that should have been implemented but have been delayed.

What is most gratifying is the cadre of FPF graduates who are now working with their community to help with their absorption.

David Amsalo, who received an FPF scholarship to Bar Ilan University, is now the Counselor at Shazar Elementary School for Ethiopian parents and their children.

Gevainish Yosef, mother of 1, another FPF scholarship recipient, is the Counselor at Rashi Elementary School, and Baruch Yichiye, also an FPF scholarship winner is the Counselor at Rambam Elementary School.

Yosef Sandaka, a father of 3, worked and went to university with the financial assistance of FPF, and is now a social worker in the Azorim neighborhood.

FPF sponsored Oshra Yosef Friedman, now mother of 2, who did her high school studies at Hadassim Youth Village, served in the army as an officer, and works with the Sacta Rashi Foundation helping distribute scholarship to Ethiopian pupils.

Vered Avraham, who graduated from Ariel College on an FPF scholarship, works with youth in distress in Netanya. Asfau Fenta, father of 4, the Manager of the Sapir Seniors Center & Youth Club for Ethiopians, was one of the earliest scholarship winners of the FPF.
